About Me

Hi there, friend! Welcome to SeeNovo.

I'm Forest Leung. I'm the founder and content creator here, and a low vision lifestyle advocate.

"My eyesight kept getting worse — yet somehow, I started seeing more."

20/200 vision: How do you live out 20 years others have already defined for you?

Like many of you reading this, my visual acuity is just 20/200. At age 5, I was diagnosed with Stargardt disease, and from that moment, my world was set on a different path from most people's.

That difference became real and unforgiving in adulthood. Over the past 20+ years living with low vision, I couldn't take the national college entrance exam because of my eyesight — losing the chance to walk into the university I'd dreamed of. Job hunting meant facing rejection after rejection in interviews. Even in business meetings, because I couldn't read clients' micro-expressions, I had to put in many times the effort just to sense and read the room.

But I never bowed to those limits. I kept looking for ways to cross those gaps. Over the past 20 years, I've worked, started businesses, and traveled — committed to living a 20/20 life with 20/200 vision.

Assistive technology: A part of me I can't live without

People often ask: How do you do it?

The answer is hiding in the assistive technology most people overlook. Today, these tools have become inseparable from who I am. Looking back, it was professional video magnifiers, screen readers, and ever-evolving AI tools that helped me complete three majors in college and climb from an entry-level role to management in my career.

For me, these aren't just tools. Without them, I couldn't do my work at all. They're like digital organs I've grown — filling in what biology left out, letting me speak with the world on equal terms.

From beneficiary to teacher: How SeeNovo was born

These experiences and tools genuinely rebuilt my life — taking me from "can't get hired" to a leadership role. I know firsthand the power of "seeing."

I've also seen too many friends and families with low vision who aren't held back by their eyesight — they're held back by an information gap. So many people stay stuck simply because they don't know which tools could actually help them.

Since I've benefited from them and reclaimed my own path, I feel a responsibility to share the 20 years of hands-on experience I've gathered. I want to teach you the assistive devices and methods that genuinely solve pain points and lift productivity — no gatekeeping — and offer a professional, easy-to-follow guide.

That's how SeeNovo was born. The goal here is simple: use technology to remove barriers, and be the friend who helps you see the world clearly, again.

You won't find empty pep talks here. What you'll get is the most practical, no-fluff content I can share.

Through real-world reviews of video magnifiers from around the globe, I'll help you avoid buying the wrong product — covering everything from traditional magnifiers to electronic video magnifiers and the latest AI-powered assistive tools — so you spend your money where it matters. I'll also share plenty of life hacks: deep-dive phone and computer settings, safe-travel tips for getting around, and how to actually master these assistive technologies. Most importantly, I want to share what I've learned about study and work. Through several rounds of our Digital Skills 101 for Low Vision course, hundreds of students have already reclaimed independent learning and work — and I'm excited to help you unlock your potential too.
